So after a couple of weeks off I go to Dino's for my usual Monday torture session, errrrrr, poker game, and the usual happened: Calling stations and morons making horrible calls and getting lucky on the river against me. Rammed A-K into a short stack, shortie wakes up with Aces to take half my stack...after doubling my stack back up on well-timed bluff push, I double-up another stack for 2/3 of my chips when my 10s get outflopped by pocket 4's. Push all-in in the dark for last 900 (200/400 level now) in SB, BB flips over pocket 8s - look great against J-6, yup I'm out.
Typical of my night, I work my way up from $10 to $15 in side cash game, then this hand happens:
1-2 blinds - EP raises to 5. Call from Bernie, and then I look and find KK in my hand. Raise to 20. Fold, then Nicole (who has built up a great stack for this game) pushes all-in. I don't insta-call, but seeing as I have 40 chips left, and feel almost pot-committed at this point, I make the call...while at the same time saying, "Flip the aces over". Tough hand to get away from, but in retrospect it really wasn't that hard to lay it down...just need to think things through more sometimes.
Oh well, 24 and House are on Mondays on FOX starting in 2 weeks...good game, me.
